This handy museum guide will accompany you on your tour around the German Museum of Pharmacy.

Having left the reception area your tour starts with a historical survey covering two thousand years of pharmaceutical and cultural history. In the following the main topics of the exhibition are elaborated. Beside displaying numerous kinds of medicaments and its ingredients, also the pharmacist’s shop itself is presented in its different functions as a work-place, like e.g. the officina (room 6), the store-room for herbs and other dry raw materials (room 7), and the laboratory (room 10). Multiple exhibition objects of the museum’s collection from various fields of pharmacist’s everyday work, such as majolica, glass, porcelain, and wooden vessels, pharmaceutical sets for voyagers, mortars, technical glass and many more are displayed and presented in authentic historical furniture, or exhibited as special issues (like e.g. room 8).Room 9 presents new acquisitions and some of the highlights of the exhibition.

The museum’s shop at the end of your tour situated in room 11 offers a broad range of products and souvenirs all around the pharmacy, and invites for a stay.
